Rota resident completes Job Corps Program
Barcinas
The CNMI Department of Labor Workforce Investment Agency celebrates Rota resident KC Lynn Barcinas’ successful completion of the Job Corps Program.
The CNMI DOL, which serves as the Outreach and Admissions Office for the USDOL Job Corps Program, enabled Barcinas to pursue her Certificate of Completion for the Hospitality Culinary Arts Program at the Hawaii Job Corp Center Waimanalo campus and be certified under the American Heart Association for First Aid CPR AED along with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in General Industry Safety and Health.
According to DOL Secretary Edith DeLeon Guerrero, Barcinas was also recognized for her leadership skills and received achievement awards in reading, perfect attendance, and dorm leadership.
DeLeon Guerrero adds that, “Job Corps is a self-paced program and KC Lynn was able to complete the Culinary Arts Program in 14 months. As part of her training, she was involved in the preparation of meals for various events such as the Annual Fun Run for the Arthritis Foundation, Fire Fighter’s Foundation, Hawaii Food Expo, and the University of Hawaii football events.”
Barcinas plans to pursue a career in Culinary Arts, while serving as a member of the United States Navy.
Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, Lt. Gov. Victor B. Hocog, and the CNMI Department of Labor Workforce Investment Agency congratulate Barcinas on her success and wish her the best on her next career journey. (PR)
