Rota lass graduates HS at the top of class; is accepted to UT Austin
Samantha Manglona, who was born on Saipan and raised on the island of Rota, has graduated in the top 2% of her class, ranking 11 out of 680 students at Pebble Hills High School in El Paso, Texas.
Manglona previously attended Dr. Rita H. Inos Junior High and Sinapalo Elementary School on her home island.
While at Pebble Hills High School, Manglona’s school leadership included being secretary of HOSA Future Health Professionals, vice president of the Red Cross Club, and the team leader and advocate of the International Humanitarian Law Youth Action Campaign.
Manglona has been accepted into the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Liberal Arts where she will be working toward her B.S. in Psychology this fall 2022.
Manglona’s message to all Rota students: “You are brilliant, powerful, and capable. Continue to be loud and disruptive and never allow anyone to make you feel inferior.”
Manglona thanks her brother Tommy, sister Mona, and brother-in-law Divine, her siblings, parents, family, and friends for their continued support and guidance. (PR)
