Rep. Glenn L. Maratita (R-Rota) has been elected chairman of the 19th Rota Legislative Delegation following the group’s organizational session yesterday.

Maratita was unanimously elected by the four legislative group members: Senate President Victor B. Hocog (Ind-Rota), Sen. Steve Mesngon (R-Rota), Sen. Teresita A. Santos (R-Rota), and himself.

Mesngon was elected vice chair, while Hocog was named floor leader. Santos was elected legislative secretary, completing the organizational leadership.

The delegation members said they will continue addressing issues and concerns on Rota, with Maratita pledging that he will be a “team player” in the organization.

Hocog said the organization is set to meet with Rota Mayor Efraim Atalig on Wednesday to discuss organizational matters, including the group’s operational budget.

The local delegations of Tinian and Aguiguan and Saipan and the Northern Islands elected their officers last Friday, with Sen. Francisco Borja (Ind-Tinian) and Rep. John Paul Sablan (R-Saipan) elected chairmen of the Tinian and Saipan delegations, respectively. (Joel D. Pinaroc)
