Rota delegation confirms Justin S. Manglona as casino commissioner
The Rota Legislative Delegation confirmed Rota Mayor Melchor A. Mendiola’s nominee to the Commonwealth Casino Commission, Justin S. Manglona, during a session on Rota last Sept. 23.
“I am honored to inform you, on behalf of the Rota Legislative Delegation, that your nomination of Mr. Justin S. Manglona to serve on the Commonwealth Casino Commission representing Rota has been confirmed by the delegation,” Rep. Teresita Santos (R-Rota) wrote in a letter to Mendiola.
The chairwoman of the Rota Legislative Delegation said they held a public hearing last Sept. 22 where Manglona was overwhelmingly supported by those who gave both oral and written testimonies in favor of the nominee.
“After much deliberation based on the overall assessment of Mr. Manglona’s credentials, experiences, testimonies, and other relevant issues considered, the Rota Legislative Delegation is convinced that Mr. Manglona possesses the qualification and leadership skills necessary to serve as a commissioner of the Commonwealth Casino Commission,” the delegation’s findings and recommendation to the nominee’s confirmation read.
Aside from Santos, the Rota Legislative Delegation is also made up of Sen. Jovita M. Taimanao (Ind-Rota), Sen. Victor B. Hocog (R-Rota), and Sen. Paul A. Manglona (Ind-Rota).
