The 670 Rollers Basketball Club continued its summer program by scrimmaging among their age group teams last Saturday at the Gillette Multi-Purpose Gymnasium in Gualo Rai.
Club founder and head coach Joe Diaz said participating age group teams were the 10-and-under team coached by Leo Naraja and Matt Iguel, the 12-and-under squad coached by T.J. Factor, and his own 14-and-under quintet.
Aside from him and the three Rollers coaches, the fathers of Rollers players like Juan Camacho, James Matsumoto, and Bobby Coldeen also tried their hand in coaching during the scrimmage.
The Rollers teams during the scrimmage were named after NBA teams like the Lakers, Suns, and Mavericks with the latter eventually winning the unofficial championship of the one-day scrimmage.
The Rollers coach extended his gratitude to club coaches, including J.P. Cruz of the 18-and-under team, as well as Rollers board members for keeping the club going all these years and despite all the challenges.
