Road closures at American Memorial Park

The American Memorial Park will be closing two roads today, Nov. 14, and tomorrow, Nov. 15, to ensure the public’s safety related to tree removal efforts to address trees damaged during Super Typhoon Yutu.

Over the two days, the off-island National Park Service sawyer team (a team of chainsaw experts), with the support of the Office of the Governor and Department of Public Safety, will work to clear trees in two park areas: Micro Beach Road and the Outer Cover Marine.

Today, Micro Beach Road, from the American Memorial Park maintenance shop to the Micro Beach Pavilion, will be closed to all traffic.

Tomorrow, Thursday, the Outer Cove Marina, from Boating Safety out to the piers will be closed to all traffic.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to clean up the park over the next several months,” said a statement from National Parks Service, which operates the park.
