Road closure in Chalan Kiya tomorrow
There will be construction and road closures on the eastbound lane of Chalan Kiya Drive near Chalan Kiya Mobil gas station and Seventh Day Adventist School tomorrow, May 14, 2019, from 9am to 5pm.
The purpose of the construction and road closures is to allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. wastewater operations personnel to continue their project of uncovering and raising manholes buried under asphalt.
During the paving of Chalan Kiya Drive, several manholes were buried under asphalt causing little access to them. CUC was able to uncover and raise one manhole during their last project. As a result of this project, CUC personnel will have a better and easier access to these wastewater assets. It is imperative that CUC have access to these manholes to effectively and efficiently operate, maintain, repair, and monitor the system.
Due to the closure of the eastbound lane and for the safety of the community, pedestrians, motorists, and large vehicles are advised to proceed with caution and take alternative routes when traveling through the area.
