REtroSPECT show cancelled due to cancelled flight
The cancellation of their scheduled flight to Saipan forced REtroSPECT to call off their scheduled benefit concert that was scheduled last Saturday night at the Hibiscus Hall of Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.
The four-member group was supposed to arrive on Saipan at 8am last Saturday from Guam, where they also had a show at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort in Tamuning. But their 7am Cape Air flight was cancelled.
The other flights going to Saipan were already full. They were offered a 4pm flight to Saipan but it would mean that they would perform right away an hour after landing at the Francisco C. Ada-Saipan International Airport.
Producers of the reunion concert, where part of the proceeds would have been donated to ABS-CBN’s Bantay Bata International Foundation, had started refunding tickets since Saturday.
Bantay Bata is a non-profit social welfare program that aims to protect abused and disadvantaged children.
REtroSPECT is a retro-pop group composed of leader-producer J. Martin Castro; Em-J who now resides in Naples in Italy; Goldie who now lives in Vancouver, while Ogie stays in Manila. Castro, who is now based in Guam, said they are working on a reunion album.
This was supposed to be REtroSPECT’s second time to hold a show on Saipan after also performing in a sold out back-to-back concert with singer Geneva Cruz last June 11, 2011, as part of the celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
