For some retirees, think about this
If these casino guys from Hong Kong were legitimate, they would have a business record going back years, a gaming background, or at least some vested interest in the industry. The truth is that until Feb. 24, 2014, their corporation was named First Natural Foods Holding Ltd. and they did no business in the gaming industry at all. This governor and this Legislature and this government is being bought. You retires are being prostituted by them for their own selfish ends and it’s probably our Public School System that is to blame because you retirees can’t comprehend what is being done to you and can’t do the math needed to see that this won’t fix your problem. All you see is getting your 25 percent in July. You are ‘dupes’ for this government. Nothing more, nothing less.
Ask yourself, what happens after I get back my 25 percent? Has the problem been solved? No, it’s just another band-aid. The Retirement Fund is still around $700 million underfunded. Part of your problem is that 10 percent of you retirees get $6,000 to $10,000 per month, 90 percent of you only get $500 or $600 a month. You are selling Saipan’s future to Hong Kong shysters for 30 pieces of silver. If the MGM Grand or The Venetian or Caesar’s Palace or The Sands or The Luxor hotel/casinos were talking to the governor and Legislature, then sure, absolutely, for certain, yes, let’s go for it. But they aren’t here because they know a $2B hotel/casino investment on Saipan cannot make money. That’s the bottom line, folks.
