Rep. Raymond D. Palacios entered yesterday a not-guilty plea in the Superior Court to charges that he sold $200 worth of crystal methamphetamine or “ice.”

During his arraignment, Palacios, through his counsel, Edward Arriola Sr., waived the reading of the information and his constitutional rights.

Palacios pleaded not guilty to the information charging him with trafficking and illegal possession of controlled substance.

Presiding Judge Robert Naraja set a status conference for Jan. 10, 2012.

Palacios, 48, is out on bail after posting $3,000 cash and $27,000 unsecured bond. Police arrested the lawmaker on Oct. 28.

According to police reports, members of the Drug Enforcement Task Force and DPS Criminal Investigation Bureau used a confidential source to buy a total of $200 worth of “ice” from Palacios in two transactions that occurred on Oct. 19, 2011.
