The Latte Training Academy has opened registration for participants seeking to earn the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute certification. The globally recognized certification in the hotel and hospitality industry is limited to the first 25 eligible participants who register for the course. Classes will fun from March 2, 2015, to May 31, 2015, three times a week and will be held at the Marianas Business Plaza. As space is limited, interested parties are strongly encouraged to register at www.lattetrainingacademy.com or via email at lattetrainingacademy@outlook.com. Eligible participants may qualify for funding through a grant made available through the CNMI Department of Commerce; however, certain restrictions may apply.

“In response to the notification of award, the Latte Training Academy is moving quickly to begin the course. Eligible participants will be able to take the course at no charge. However, participants will be required to invest their time into the successful completion of the course. This includes regular attendance at scheduled classes, engagement in the job shadowing component, as well as the ability to pass the certification examination with a score of 70 percent or higher,” said LTA board member Tina Palacios.

The course will provide successful students with two American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute certifications, including the GOLD and START certifications. The AHLEI certifications are widely recognized throughout the hotel and hospitality industry as the professional certification that is the ultimate distinction of professional excellence. The rigorous course requirements provide participants with foundational skills and knowledge in all aspects of the hotel and hospitality industry and showcase a dedication and commitment that many employers are seeking.

“We are excited to offer this course through the availability of this one-time grant funding made through the CNMI Department of Commerce. We have found tremendous success with our past graduates, with nearly 74 percent of students who graduated in May of 2014 either working or pursuing higher education,” said LTA secretary Arielle Buyum.
