The American Red Cross NMI Chapter provided assistance to a family who were victims of a house fire in Chalan Kiya in the early morning of June 20, 2014. The house was completely destroyed by the fire. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt.

The Red Cross Disaster Action Team responded to the fire scene and worked closely with the family in providing them with much needed assistance for clothing, food and medication.

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of our donors and the continued support of our CNMI community. It is directly through this support that we are able to carry out the Red Cross Mission of helping victims of disasters,” said Emergency Services director Paul W. Camacho.
