The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is using the online reading program READsquared for its first ever Happy Birthday Reading Challenge. Up for grabs are cash prizes and a family pool pass to the Wave Jungle of the Saipan World Resort.
Using READsquared, an online reading program that tracks reading logs, issues virtual challenges, and awards certificates, the Happy Birthday Reading Challenges are open to the community to celebrate prospective birthdays. Prospective donors are asked to sponsor reading challenges by providing prizes for the community for successful participants.
This month’s Happy Birthday Reading Challenge was sponsored and paid for by the family of birthday celebrant Alexandra Demapan Birnbrich, who celebrated her sixth birthday last April 28, 2021.
Birnbrich loves the library and loves reading. In honor of Autism Awareness Month and her sixth birthday, she challenges the first 10 children (ages 0-12 years old) who read six books (ebooks, audio books, or physical books from the JKPL) and successfully complete their READsquared virtual reading log will receive $10. The first 30 children who complete the challenge will be enrolled in a virtual raffle for one lucky child to receive a family pool pass for four to Saipan World Resort. Offer expires May 31, 2021. Offer valid only on Saipan. For more information on sponsoring reading challenges or participating in reading events, email bethdemapanjkpl@gmail.com.
READsquared is available on the library’s website at www.cnmilib.org. (PR)
