Glenn H. Manglona, the host of the Chamorro radio show Marianas Agupa, announced last Friday his intention to run for a House seat in Precinct 1.

“My candidacy is…about the challenges that we are facing in our community. The fundamental core is that we must represent the interest of our people. Nothing more and nothing less. Clean and transparent government is where my compass will take me if elected and given the opportunity to serve my precinct,” he said.

Precinct 1 covers San Vicente, Dandan, Koblerville, San Antonio, and part of As Gonno.

Manglona, who holds a master’s degree in marketing management, is currently on a contract employment as a statistics specialist and epidemiology lead with the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s Community Guidance Center. He and other members of the State Epidemiology Workgroup published the 2011, 2013, and 2016 Epidemiology Profile of the CNMI.

Manglona was also a former economic development officer and resident director for the Department of Commerce.

On Saturdays, from 9am to 11am, you’ll hear Manglona on Marianas Agupa on 100.3 FM.

For now, Manglona is the only candidate under the Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands for Precinct 1. The other candidates running as independents include Rep. Edwin Propst, Lino Tenorio, Joseph Flores, Franklin Babauta, and Samantha Babauta. (PR)
