The Sand Juvy Put3ska used its two wins in the partners double matches as enough cushion in completing an 8-4 decision against sister team No Fear in the final match in the Fanihi B division of the 2014 Saipan Electronic Darts Association Bud Light Cup last week.

The Put3ska pairs of Arvin Orense and Paul Quizon, and Renato Barros and Modie Zamora opened things up with victories over the opposing tandems of Claire Aldan and Phil Celis, and Francis Magofna and Hank Magofna.

Orense, Quizon, Zamora and Mike Badonadi followed it up with wins in the random cricket, partners double out, and half-it events, claiming 6 of the 10 matches at stake to seal the win for the Put3ska crew.

Put3ska eked out an 8-6 triumph over the Smoke Pub 80 Proofers, while the No Fear clipped the VFW Warriors, 8-4, in a pair of semifinals contests last Dec. 11.

Put3ska placed second behind the Smoke Pub D’ Mekaniks in the regular season.

Results of the Naked Fish Ridin’ Darrty and Jokers Warriors finals match in the Flame Tree B division were not yet available at press time.

The Smoke Pub Marupok clinched a semis seat after an 8-6 win over the D’Mekaniks in the Tuesday B Division. The finals is set for Dec. 30.

The Ridin’ Darrty takes on the Route33 Mixblood, and Smoke Pub Comatose battles the Route33 Mafia in the A division semifinals with the winners advancing to the Dec. 29 title match.

The Darrty defeated the 101 Proofers, 9-5; Mixblood dumped Sakude, 9-3; and the Mafia and Hunters scored similar 9-6 decisions over the Bud Brothers and Comatose, respectively, in the quarterfinal round.

In the Chichirika division, the Jokers Spartans battle the Sand Juvy Ta Chagi for a spot on the Chichirika C division title match, while the Joe’s DNA Jump It and the Smoke Pub Bull-It are in the other half of the semis match.

The Spartans tripped the Snipers, 8-2; Ta Chagi edged Feelin’ Lucky, 8-6; Jump It clipped Hit’em Up, 8-4; and the Bull-It downed Blue Koi’s, 8-5, in the Last 8 round with the Bud Light champion to be known on Jan. 14.

The awards ceremony is set for Jan. 25 from 10:30am to 2pm at Charley’s Cabaret at Pacific Islands Club Saipan. (Jon Perez)
