Public warned of strong winds

Share

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management, northeast winds are expected to increase overnight and reach 25 to 35 mph by early Tuesday morning.

A wind advisory remains in effect until 6pm Thursday.

These winds will persist through the day then diminish slightly to 20 to 30 mph Tuesday night and Wednesday. Gusts may reach 40 mph mainly in showers.

The public is being advised to take precautionary/preparedness actions. Winds this strong can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles such as a truck with a shipping container on it. Use extra caution. Bring small loose items indoors. Take down canopies and awnings that are susceptible to wind damage. (HSEM)
