A small craft advisory is in effect from 6am today, Monday, to 6pm Wednesday.

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, northeast winds of 20 to 25 knots with gusts of up to 30 knots, and seas of 8 to 10 feet are expected Monday night in coastal waters of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

Winds will remain fresh to strong due to the descending shearline from the north and trade-wind confluence from the southeast. Combined seas of 7 to 8 feet will increase to between 8 and 10 feet Monday night, becoming hazardous to small craft as well.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions. (PR)
