Based on information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, a small craft advisory is in effect until 6am Friday.

A high surf advisory is also in effect until 6am Friday.

Combined seas of 7 to 10 feet and winds of 15 to 20 knots with frequent gusts of 25 knots will continue through early Friday morning.

Meanwhile, a large north swell is moving through the Marianas waters. The north swell has increased to a range of 6 to 8 feet. This is large enough to produce hazardous surf on north facing reefs.

Waves and surf along north facing reefs has risen to hazardous levels of 7 to 10 feet. Surf will remain at these levels through early Friday morning, then gradually subside below hazardous levels.

There will be a high risk of rip currents along north facing reefs and beaches along with the possibility of minor beach erosion.

The public is being encouraged to continue being proactive in keeping their families and community safe.
