The Public School System and Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality partnered for two days for students to tour the BECQ laboratories.

BECQ staff brought awareness to students of the importance in testing drinking water and marine water, including its analysis of water samples. Students were told of various bacteria that could be found in water. BECQ says it is important to know that water is tested because of its necessity for survival.

Students say it was a good learning experience and now know what red flags at beaches mean.
