Public library to offer ukelele classes for summer

Ukulele classes will be offered at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library in Susupe this summer.

In collaboration with Larry Lee, the state library will be offering summer ukulele classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Minimum age requirement is 8 but adults are also welcome to join.

The program will be eight weeks long and classes will be an hour each.

Classes for beginners will start on June 23 and will be taught every Tuesday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

Intermediate and advanced classes will be taught every Thursday beginning June 25 from 4pm to 5pm.

Prospective students must provide their own instrument and a folder to hold music sheets. Parents or guardians must sign a liability waiver form on behalf of their participating minor children. Those who wish to join must adhere to public library policies and procedures.

The classes are worth $50 and pre-payment is required. Deadline to register is on next Saturday, June 19.
