Public invited to yearend cleanups in CK, Susupe
Members of the community are invited to pitch in for village cleanups in Chalan Kanoa and Susupe this Saturday, Dec. 11, and next Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021.
The Office of Rep. Christina Sablan (Precinct 2) is teaming up with the Lions Centennial Club to host the Dec. 11 village cleanup. Volunteers will meet at 7am at Sugar Dock Beach. Trash bags, gloves, face masks, sanitizers, water, and refreshments will be provided for volunteers.
The following Saturday, Dec. 18, residents of Chalan Kanoa and Susupe are invited and encouraged to clean up around their homes and neighborhoods that morning and bring the collected trash to a central dumpster bin that will be stationed in the lot south of the Chalan Kanoa cemetery on Texas Road, from 8am to 12pm.
Only household trash and litter picked up from roadsides will be accepted on Dec. 18. No waste will be accepted after 12pm, and no hazardous materials, junk appliances or cars, tires, green waste, or similar waste items will be accepted. Residents who require supplies such as trash bags or gloves, or who need assistance with trash pickup on Dec. 18 may call Tokie Mojica from the Office of Rep. Christina Sablan at (670) 285-5392.
Residents are also asked to report junk cars abandoned on public lands, or junk cars on their own residential properties that they need assistance removing by calling (670) 664-8829 or (670) 285-5392. The Office of Rep. Christina Sablan is working with the Saipan Mayor’s Office and the Zoning Office to coordinate removal.
