Interested in previewing materials that may be used in our children’s classroom? The Instructional Materials Expo is the place to go.

The Public School System will roll out the Instructional Materials Expo today on Saipan. This will showcase trends in instructional and learning tools and resources that impacts classroom practices.

The expo is free and open to the public and will be held from 1pm to 7pm at Marianas High School cafeteria.

The Instructional Materials Expo is part of PSS’ initiative of adopting resources to be used in all of public schools in the areas of Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts, Math, and Chamorro & Carolinian Language Heritage Studies.

Today’s event will feature booths of various vendors who will showcase and present today’s instructional materials which the public can freely browse through. The public will also have the chance to provide feedback on the materials that are on display and their eventual use in the classrooms.

The Instructional Materials Expo is part of a district-wide activity. Rota and Tinian will hold their separate Instructional Materials Expo next week: June 29 for Rota at Sinapalo Elementary School cafeteria and on July 1 at Tinian Junior Senior High School library. They will be from 1pm to 7pm during those dates.

“It is our effort to have our parents and community participate in this process.  Parents and community matter,” explains Associate Education Commissioner for Instructional Services Jackie Quitugua.

Special PSS teams were been formed to review the resources and are taking all stakeholders feedback into consideration the week after the expositions. (PSS)
