Public invited to NMC Charter Day celebration on Friday
To celebrate 33 years of enriching lives through higher education, the Northern Marianas College is inviting the CNMI community to one of its biggest celebrations of the year, Charter Day, this Friday, May 16, 2014.
“We’re inviting everyone to join us again in As Terlaje for our annual Charter Day celebration,” said Charter Day planning chair and NMC student Ervin Cruz. “There will be lots of great food, fun, and live entertainment so I hope everyone can celebrate with us this Friday.”
Members of the community gather to watch the performances on stage at the Northern Marianas College’s Charter Day event last year. This year’s Charter Day event will take place this Friday, May 16, 2014, from 5pm to 10pm at the College’s South Field in As Terlaje. (NMC)
The event will feature various entertainment and competitions, including the Marianas Idol singing contest, Battle of the Bands, and the Hi-Lux Truck & Sport Compact Car Show. Numerous vendors will also be selling delicious food and drinks, as well as hosting game booths.
As part of its commitment to promote healthier health habits, sugary drinks will not be sold at Charter Day. This includes sodas or other drinks with high sugar content. Water and coconut (in nut) will be sold.
Those who cannot attend NMC’s Charter Day festivities can view the festivities online by visiting the following website for the live stream: www.ustream.tv/channel/nmc2014charterday.
