Public comments sought on PA Memos for 2 Marine Corps relocation projects

ASAN, Guam—Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas announces the availability of two Programmatic Agreement Memos for public review and comments through Oct. 9, 2019.

PA Memos provide an opportunity for interested members of the public to participate in the Section 106 consultation process required under the National Historic Preservation Act.

The following PA Memo provides new cultural and natural resources information associated with planned construction projects and are available on the NAVFAC Pacific Cultural Information webpage at http://go.usa.gov/kZWG. (The URL is case sensitive).

PA Memo #2: Well field on Andersen Air Force Base. This project proposes necessary construction of water wells to meet future needs. Archaeological monitoring of ground disturbance will be contracted.

PA Memo #1: Andersen South Urban Combat Training Complex. Operation Activities on AAFB Andersen South installation. This project is being developed to serve the needs of Marine Corps training activities. Archaeological sites will be preserved in place or data recovered as determined by Navy archaeologists.

This is a 45-day public comment period and interested members of the community may submit comments via email to criwebcomment@navy.mil.
