PSS looks to promote its own for $50K to $60K tech director job

The Public School System is looking within itself for an ungraded $50,000 to $60,000 “State Technology Director” position.

The director takes a supervisory role over PSS network and communications programs and infrastructure, including broadband, online assessments, digital content and digital professional learning.

According to the PSS job vacancy announcement, minimum requirements are a U.S. accredited college associate of arts or science degree and five years of work related experience and technical certification.

That, or a bachelor’s of arts degree and three years work experience and technical, or a master’s degree with one year of related experience and certification.

Titled “Promotional/Transfer Opportunity (PSS Employees Only),” the position opened on March 19 and will close on April 2. Salary is an ungraded $50,000 to $60,000. Benefits include life insurance, retirement, and paid leave/holidays benefits.

PSS Human Resources staff clarified the position as an internal announcement where “you need to be in the system” to apply. The HR office did not respond to an email Friday on whether the position would also be announced publicly in the future.
