Assistant attorney general Eileen Escudero Wisor, a victim of burglary on Saturday near the Civic Center in Susupe, believes that she was being watched.

Wisor told Saipan Tribune yesterday that the suspect or suspects took her purse containing a wallet, planner, checkbook, cash, credit cards, four zip drives of personal material, camera, phone, and backpack with clothes and personal items.

“It is not true that legal documents were on me. I was misquoted in the Variety,” said Wisor in an email.

The prosecutor said she was swimming the tanks at about 10am. When she returned to the shore, her things were gone.

“I absolutely could have been more careful. It is most likely that I was being watched. I’m lucky my car windows weren’t broken and/or I have to find a replacement key to my car,” said Wisor.

Wisor had just joined the Office of the Attorney General’s Criminal Division a few months ago.

She said she was robbed a few times before.

“It’s an awful feeling-no one deserves this. I’ve been a zealous advocate for victims in my job thus far and will continue to do so to the best of my capability,” Wisor said.
