The CNMI Superior Court found probable cause yesterday to warrant the filing of charges against the two remaining suspects in the rape case that involved four men.

During a preliminary hearing for 38-year-old Christopher Saimon and 19-year-old Richmond Keybond, who were allegedly involved in raping an intoxicated woman, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho found probable cause to believe that both Saimon and Keybond committed sexual assault in the second degree.

Keybond was represented by his counsel, Cong Nie, while Saimon was represented by his council, Oliver Manglona.

Both Keybond and Saimon are set to be arraigned on Aug. 27.

Another suspect in the alleged rape, Romeo Aquino Saimon, waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He is represented by counsel Charles McDonald,

Romeo Saimon is the father of Keybond.

Probable cause for sexual assault in the first degree and assault (domestic violence) has already been found in the case of Joseph Saimon, the fourth suspect in the alleged rape and the victim’s ex-boyfriend, back in July.

Romeo, Christopher, and Joseph Saimon are brothers.

Assistant attorney general Teri Tenorio appeared on behalf of the government.

The preliminary hearing started last Friday and ended yesterday.

Romeo Saimon, Keybond, and Christopher Saimon allegedly raped the drunk woman, who also complained that her former boyfriend, Joseph Saimon, kidnapped and raped her last June 25 or a day after the incident on Saipan.
