There will be a scheduled power interruption on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 9am to 1pm.

There will be another power interruption on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 5:30am to 10:30am.

The purpose of the power interruption on Thursday is to de-energize the primary lines to allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely replace two wooden power poles with concrete poles in San Vicente on Isa Drive.

Saturday’s power interruption is intended to de-energize primary lines to allow CUC line crew to replace four wooden power poles with concrete poles in Dandan on Flame Tree Road.

Both are part of an ongoing hazard mitigation project that involves replacing 787 wooden poles with concrete poles. A total of 287 wooden poles have already been replaced. That means there are 498 poles that still need to be replaced.

Areas to be affected by the Thursday outage are San Vicente’s Isa Dr. (Kahida Pl., Laulau Bay Drive, Achon Ln., Railroad Dr., Sinagu Ln., Tininu Pl., Galak Dr., Makpong Pl., Pacific Heights Ln., Boya Pl., Galayan Pl., Mulberry Ln., Lantana Pl., Palai Way, Mapga Ln., Langit Ln., Berbena Dr., Pakko Ln., Golondrina Dr., and Nifen Ln.)

Saturday’s power outage may affect water services in the affected areas: Lower Dandan (Holiday Dr., Independence Loop, and Natibu Pl.) and partials of Flame Tree Road. The IF-15 water well may be affected. However, all services should be restored after the power is re-energized.

Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
