Power outages on March 9 and March 11

There will be a scheduled power interruption on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 1:30pm to 5:30pm.

The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize the primary lines to allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely relocate five primary power poles, primary conductors, and hardware. This relocation is part of the ongoing Cross Island Road Improvement Project.

Areas to be affected are the Lower Base CUC power plant going up to Isa Drive (Sadog Tasi Drive, Baranka Lane, Pila Drive, Woosch Lane, Laguna Drive, Coastal Drive) and ends before the Capital Hill Post Office.

Water services affected will include Sadog Tasi, Lower Base, upper and lower Navy Hill, China Town, and the entire Garapan area.

Sewer lift stations affected are the treatment plant, S I, S4, SS, S9.

The Sadog Tasi traffic light will be affected.

There will also be a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 5:30am to 1:30pm.

The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize the primary lines to allow CUC line crew to safely change out eight wooden power poles with concrete power poles along Airport Road (Chalan Tun Herman Pan). This is part of the FEMA Hazard Mitigation program to strengthen and harden the integrity of the power distribution system throughout the island.

Areas to be affected include Chalan Tun Herman Pan (Commerce P1., Skydive P1., Dancing P1., Gapet Ln., Kaling Dr., Exploring Dr., Swimming Ln., Tourist Lp., Diving Ln., Ganggoche Dr., Tuba Ln., Langet Pl., and Saagh P1.), Partials of Flame Tree Road (Sineso Lane) and Partials of As Lito Drive (Cocos Pl., Binakle P1., and Peilu Pl.)

Water wells to be affected: IF-105, DD-7, and DD-8

Wastewater lifts stations to be affected: A-13 and A-14

Because of the scale of work that will be performed, travelers are encouraged to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
