The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will conduct a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, Aug. 1, to replace primary power pole accessories in the villages of Chalan Kiya, San Jose, and Oleai.

At 6:30am, CUC will temporarily interrupt power service along portions of Chalan Monsignor Guerrero and Beach Road in Chalan Kiya, San Jose, and Oleai to allow CUC Power personnel safe access to the primary lines during the replacement process.

Linemen will replace deteriorated machine bolts and pole top pins on 20 primary power poles from the Chalan Kiya Mobil Station on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero to the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Beach Rd. CUC Power personnel will also replace a rotted three-phase primary power pole on Beach Road in front of the Borja Funeral Home.

The temporary service interruption is expected to take up to five hours to complete, at which time power will be restored to the area.
