Power outage on Middle Road this Sat.
There will be a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, from 5:30am to 10:30am.
The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize the primary lines to allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely replace two wooden power poles with concrete poles along Middle Road. This is part of an ongoing Hazard Mitigation Project that involves the replacement of 787 wooden poles with concrete poles.
A total of 301 wooden poles have been replaced with their corresponding pole size. The remaining 486 are to be replaced with their corresponding concrete pole size.
Middle Road (including SRC Building, Micronesian Marine, Auto Steam, JY Car, Best Seller, McDonald’s, Saipan Vegas, I Love Saipan, IT&E, Amara P1., Rhoo Loop, Docomo, and Payless Shoe Source) will be affected by Saturday’s power interruption.
Travelers are encouraged to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
