Power outage in Papago on Saturday
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has scheduled a power interruption this Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 5:30am to 8:30am.
The purpose of the interruption is to de-energize the primary lines so the CUC line crew may work safely as they replace a defective parallel switch in the Papago area near the Botanical Garden. This switch will provide the linemen the ability to isolate problematic areas on the Feeder 4 and Kiya 1 electrical circuits. It will also allow the CUC linemen to parallel the Feeder 4 and Kiya 1 circuits, minimizing the number of customers inconvenienced during future repairs or maintenance on the electrical grid.
In addition, other line crew will be clearing vegetations from the de-energized primary lines in Sosugi Dr. and Ahgaga Dr.
Areas affected by this power outage include Fresko Pl., Satchet Ln., Dagga Pl., Pengua Pl., Maipe Ln., Palm Tree Pl., Chetnot Pl., Ahgaga Dr., Amot Ln., and Pina Dr.
Because of the scale of the work that will be performed, travelers are asked to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through affected areas. CUC apologizes for any inconvenience this power interruption may have on the community and will continue to work diligently to minimize future interruptions. (CUC)
