Power outage in Garapan on Saturday
There will be a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, from 5am to 10am to allow a Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely replace three wooden power poles with concrete poles along Beach Road in Garapan.
This is part of an ongoing Hazard Mitigation Project that involves the replacement of 787 wooden poles with concrete poles. A total of 480 wooden poles have been replaced with their corresponding pole size. The remaining 307 are to be replaced with their corresponding concrete pole size.
Areas to he affected are Feeder 2 (2na Partial): Beach Road Garapan (Fishing Base to Smiling Cove Marina), Dama Di Noche St., Mapola St., Kadena Di Amor St., McDonald’s/Mobil gas station, TSL building, Joeten Hafa Adai shopping center, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Wild Bills, IHOP, Ajisen Ramen, Coconut St., Coffee Tree Mall, Ginger Ave., Coral Tree Ave., Date St., Pasco de Marianas, Palm St., and Plumeria Ave.
No water well will be affected but the S5 sewer lift station will be affected.
The traffic light at the intersection near Bank of Guam will be affected.
Because of the scale of work that will be performed, we ask travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
