There will be a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, from 7am to 12pm.

The outage is intended to de-energize the primary lines to allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely replace three 55-foot concrete poles with three 45-foot concrete poles along Chalan Pale Arnold Road in San Roque.

The pole replacement task is part of a working requirement that involves the replacement of a certain quantity of 55-foot concrete poles that were temporarily used as replacement to 45-foot wooden poles damaged during Typhoon Soudelor.

The pole replacement projects that have been performed and will continue to take place until June 2018 is part of an ongoing Hazard Mitigation Project aimed at strengthening the power distribution system with the replacement of 787 wooden poles with concrete poles. At the moment, 338 wooden poles have been replaced.

Water services for the San Roque, Tanapag, and As Matuis areas will be interrupted during the power interruption; however, all services should be restored after power is re-energized.

Areas that will be affected by the power interruption include San Roque and As Matuis. The MQ-1, MQ-5, MQ-8, MQ-9, MQ-10, MQ-13, MQ-14, MQ-15, and MQ-16 water wells will be affected. The SR-I and SR-2 wastewater lift stations will also be affected.

Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
