Power interruption in San Antonio on Saturday
There will be a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, from 5:30am to 10:30am to allow line crew of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. to safely replace three wooden power poles with concrete poles along Chalan Tun Thomas P. Sablan in San Antonio.
This is part of an ongoing hazard mitigation project of the Federal Emergency Management Agency that involves replacing 787 wooden poles with concrete poles.
A total of 483 wooden poles have already been replaced, leaving 304 that still needs to be replaced.
Areas to be affected include Kiya 2 (2nd Partial) affecting Chalan Tun Thomas P. Sablan in San Antonio (Lililok Pl., Alu Dr., and Bua Ln.) and Afetna Road. No water well will be affected but the A-3 wastewater lift station will be affected.
Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
