POLO recognizes 228 graduates of training courses

Officer-in-charge Julia F. Fabian of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office of the Philippine Consulate General is optimistic that their livelihood training initiative will carry on even if their office shuts down after Oct. 31.
“We are thankful for the continuous support of the Filipino community especially in the enhancement of their fellow Filipinos,” said Fabian, who gave the remarks as POLO awarded certificates to all graduates of the five training courses offered to Filipino workers on island for the second quarter of 2012.
A total of 228 graduates were recognized in graduation ceremonies held at the Filipino Workers Resource Center at the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe on May 19 and 20.
Of this number, 55 completed the course on Domestic Refrigeration and Aircon Mechanic, 57 for Basic Baking, 33 for Computer Building & Fixing, 62 for Basic Computer Operations I, and 22 for Basic Mandarin.
“The training was supported by OFW-instructors who are experts in their fields and who unselfishly shared their talents and skills [with] their fellow Filipinos,” said Fabian.
These instructors were Rogelio Guinocor, with the assistance of Edwin Desin, for the Domestic Refrigeration & Aircon Mechanic; Jojo Sotto for the Baking Class; husband and wife Zaldy and Marilyn Quebral, along with Jousel Regilme, for Basic Computer Operations I; Reynaldo Garcia for Basic Mandarin; and Marcelo Masilungan for Computer Building & Fixing.
The training courses were supported by classes on business management techniques by Ignacio “Jhun” Bañadera, Jr. and on value-formation and personality development by Fe Calixterio.
