Woman arrested for alleged domestic violence
A police officer was doing routine patrol through Chalan Kanoa on Saipan last Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at about 11:08am, when a man flagged him for assistance, saying he would like to file a domestic violence complaint against his girlfriend.

Kaipat

The victim alleged that Kimberly Kaipat punched and hit him the day before, that she was angry as she could not find her cellphone charger. Sometime that afternoon, Kaipat allegedly pulled the victim’s hair and beat him to the ground as he was intoxicated. Medics checked the victim but he refused to be transported to the hospital for further treatment.  

At approximately 11:34am., Kaipat was arrested and brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transported to the Department of Corrections where she was booked and detained.

On Sept. 16, 2020, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio issued a Rule-5 for Kaipat for the charges of disturbing the peace, assault & battery, and domestic violence with bail set at $5,000. Kaipat was served while still detained at DOC. (PR)

Man arrested for alleged vandalism
The CNMI Department of Public Safety received a 911 call last Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at about 2:10am, reporting a criminal complaint in Chalan Kanoa.

Manglona

At the scene, police met with the caller who stated that their vehicle was damaged by a shirtless male individual, who repeatedly hit the vehicle with a piece of broken concrete before fleeing the scene. The caller showed police a video taken through their camera phone. Police identified the suspect as Lucas Manglona from previous cases. Units in the area were notified to be on the lookout. Later that day at about 4:52pm, Manglona was arrested and brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transported to the DOC where he was booked and detained.

On Sept.r 16, 2020, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio issued a Rule-5 for Kaipat for the charges of vandalism with bail set at $5,000. Manglona was served while still detained at DOC.

The CNMI Department of Public Safety received a 911 call on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at about 9:17am, reporting a domestic violence incident in Garapan.

Muna

The victim told police that her boyfriend, Jay Muña, had pushed, hit, and headbutted her earlier. The victim was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center for further treatment before police were able to interview her further. Police were told that Muña had fled the scene in a vehicle before they arrived. Later that day, at approximately 11am, police conducted a violator stop on a vehicle and noticed that Jay Muña was the driver. He was then arrested and brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transported to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained. Muña was later released.

On Sept. 15, 2020, Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo issued an arrest warrant for Muña for the charges of disturbing the peace, assault & battery, and domestic violence, with bail set at $5,000.

On Sept. 15, 2020, Muña was arrested at a house in Koblerville. He was then brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transported to DOC where he now awaits to appear in court. (PR)
