Poet Joe Connolly dropped by the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library last April 12 to teach poetry to students from Northern Marianas International School, in honor of National Library Week (April 8-14).

The students enjoyed Connolly’s presentation; his spontaneous “poetry rapping” was especially enjoyed by all. Connolly also talked about sonnets and haiku, and the differences between the two forms of poetry.

At the end of the presentation, Connolly donated a book of haikus to the library, Jumbo Box by Michael Dylan. Connolly also donated Jumbo Box to the Rota Public Library and the Tinian Public Library.
