Please observe three-foot law

Share

I was on my way to work today on my bike, in the bike lane, and a white truck came within about a foot of hitting me. It was terrifying! I have already been hit by a car once before while walking my bike through a crosswalk with flashing lights, and I am really cautious when I am out on the road.

I would like to just ask drivers to please observe the law which says to give cyclists a three-foot clearance. Cyclists are completely defenseless against a 3-ton (or more) vehicle, and it would be a tragedy if one were hit. I worry about my friends on the road practicing for the upcoming Hell of the Marianas bike race this weekend and also for all the visiting cyclists from off island.

Please be careful of cyclists and pedestrians and respect the three-foot law. Have a happy and safe holidays.
