Filipino celebrities Kim Chiu and Xian Lim cheered up their fans on Saipan with a two-hour show last Sunday night at the packed Royal Taga Hall of the Saipan World Resort. The event was part of the promotion of Philippine Airlines’ direct flight from Saipan to Manila.

Chiu and Lim, one of the Philippines’ hottest love teams, performed songs that they popularized or covers of hits like Imagine by John Lennon. Saipan Music and Dance Studio students acted as their back-up dancers.

The Story of Us stars also gamely played with several members of the crowd in a dating game where the winners earned the chance to spend a few minutes with Chiu and Lim on stage.

Several times Chiu and Lim went down the stage that got the crowd up on its feet and swarmed them to get some selfies. VIP ticket holders also had the chance to have their photos taken with both Pinoy celebrities or get their autographs.

Chiu and Lim, in an interview with local media, said that they were overwhelmed and thankful of the warm welcome they received in their brief visit on Saipan.

“It was overwhelming. Everyone was friendly, as soon as we arrived at the airport they’ve been greeting us, they call us in the names of our characters Macoy and Tin. There’s also a lot of Filipinos here as if we never left the Philippines,” said Chiu.

“It is nice to find out that there are a lot of things you could do here on Saipan. Scuba diving, ride a submarine, or an ATV. People here are always happy. Everywhere you go somebody’s going to greet you with a smile. This is paradise as if I almost wanted to live here,” added Lim

Aside from their series, The Story of Us on The Filipino Channel, they also have a movie as one of their upcoming projects. There were still no final details of the movie with the script still in the writing and conceptualization stages. Chiu is also hosting the new season of The Voice Kids.

Asked how they keep their selves healthy and fit with their hectic schedules, Chiu said that she always makes sure that she eats the right food and she won’t skip a meal since a full stomach helps her in memorizing her lines.

Lim, on the other hand, said he follows a balanced diet and eating habits since some of the taping of their show extends to the wee hours of the morning.

After Saipan, the two will fly to Chicago and London, and back to Palawan to continue shooting their series.
