‘Pikaboo’ to face new foe in PXC 50
Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez will be facing a new foe when he climbs the Pacific Xtreme Combat cage next month as one of the undercards in the Frank “The Crank” Camacho-Tyrone “Bones” Jones headliner in PXC 50 on Dec. 4 at the University of Guam Calvo Fieldhouse in Mangilao.
Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez hopes to ride the momentum of his victory over Jessie “The Finisher” Rafols last August when he takes on Japanese bet Yutaro Muramoto in next month’s Pacific Xtreme Combat 50 at the University of Guam Calvo Fieldhouse.

Camacho (17-3 with 13 knockouts) will be facing Guam’s Jones (5-4 with 3 KOs) for the vacant PXC lightweight belt after the semi main event where Yusuke Yachi of Japan (13-4 with 2 KOs) will try to defend his featherweight championship belt against Australian Alex “The Hulk” Volkanovsky (10-1 with 6 KOs).
Alvarez (11-2 with 3 KOs) will now be facing Yutaro Muramoto in a three-round bout in the 125-lb (flyweight) weight class after fellow Japanese bet Kentaro Watanabe (10-7 with 3 KOs) unexpectedly pulled out.
The Trench Tech fighter, in an exclusive interview with the Saipan Tribune, said he did not stop training right after his victory by rear-naked choke submission of Filipino bet Jessie “The Finisher” Rafols (8-5 with 1 KO) in PXC 49 last Aug. 7 also in Guam.
“We started training camp early a few days after my win [over Jessie Rafols]. It has been a solid three months of almost everyday training. You got to work hard for it if you want to be the best,” said Alvarez during a break in his training at the Trench Tech Gym.
“Right now, I’m starting to cut weight to reach the 125-lb weight limit. I’m trying to lose a pound a day. I am doing a lot of jogging that’s why I drink a lot of water, because once you started to sweat, it won’t stop. Also, I’m on a strict lean meat diet and I’m sticking to eating green vegetables,” added Alvarez.
He said that he plans to do nothing fancy against Muramoto and will try to fight smart. “I’ll try to watch it closely. I plan to have an exciting fight against him. Keep it simple and fight smart.”
Muramoto is no pushover since the Komatsu City-born fighter’s two wins where by way of knockout—a flying knee to Kenji Yamanaka (0-3) in 32 seconds of the first round in the Tribe Tokyo Fight Challenge 5 last September and a TKO by punches against Tyuyoshi Minamide (3-2 with 2KOs) in the 3:59 mark of the second round in Heat 35 in March of this year.
He lost by against fellow Japanese Ryosuke Kano in Wardog Cage Fight 5 on July 18.
Roman “Boom” Alvarez and Josh “Chaos” Duenas, Shane’s stablemates at the Trench Tech Gym, are also on the fight card against separate opponents.
Roman Alvarez (7-0 with 3 KOs), who is Shane’s cousin, will take on Mark Abelardo of New Zealand (11-4 with 6KOs), while Duenas (4-5 with 1KO), who just replaced Vince “The Clinch” Masga, faces another Kiwi in Kaiwhare Kara-France (10-5 with 5 KOs).
