PIC to host first Summerfest
Pacific Islands Club Saipan is stepping up its game by hosting what will be the very first Summerfest on Aug. 9 and 10 with a range of entertaining elements to experience.
According to a PIC statement, this two-day event will be all-encompassing and joyous celebration, with both daytime activities and nighttime party.
“We are hoping this festival to be one of new signature attractions of Saipan. It will be a fun day out for families on the island and, at the same time, enticement that fascinates visitors to choose Saipan for their vacation,” said Dennis Tababa, director of PIC Saipan’s Sports, Entertainment, and Activity department.
Water games and sports will be the highlight of the fest. Using PIC Saipan’s Waterpark facility, the resort is presenting games like water basketball, water balloon fights, water gun fights, water runs on the floating stepping stones, and many more.
“There will be ample choices of things to do. Guests would feel that two days is even not enough to try all the activities available,” said Tababa.
The annual Hafa Adai 5K Color Run will take place on the second day, early in the morning.
Runners will depart from the PIC beach volleyball court, head north, turn around across Triple J Wholesale, and return to the starting point.
The proceeds raised from the race goes to Empty Vessel Ministry.
Bridge Capital, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Kanoa Resort, Pacific Trading Co., Pepsi, TanHoldings, Topnotch, Triple J Wholesale, and PIC’s sister hotel, Kensington Hotel Saipan, are sponsoring the event.
“If you get hungry and thirsty from all the games and activities, come to food stands where we will serve drinks and international snacks,” said Steve Balakrishna, director of Food and Beverage. Guests are supposed to pay tokens for food; tokens will be sold at the entrance.
Daytime fun will be followed by shows and concert. Music bands, DJ, and performers are lined up for nightly entertainment, and a Glow Party will be the grand finale of the whole festival.
In-house guests can enjoy the entire program for free. PIC Saipan also offers different options of special deals to Saipan residents. Summerfest Super Pass, access to waterparks, all the program, and lunch at Magellan, is available at $70 and $55, for adult and child, respectively. Super Pass, without lunch option, is $55 for adult and $40 for children. For anyone who can make it only on Saturday, Summerfest Saturday Extravaganza is available at $40 for adult, and $30 for child. (PR)
