To assist in the mission to help children in need in the CNMI, Pacific Islands Club Saipan recently donated $3,500 to Empty Vessel Ministry, with the money coming from the funds that PIC raised during the Hafa Adai 5K Color Run, which PIC organized last Oct. 5.
Out of all the money raised at the 5K Color Run, $2,000 was used to buy school supplies, including notebooks, stationery, and water bottles, among others. The rest of the amount was donated in cash.
Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation distributed the donated school supplies at the Resiliency Fest held at the Marianas Business Plaza last Saturday. The school supplies were given to 210 children.
“This donation is not entirely about us, but of the community helping the community,” said PIC Saipan general manager Gloria Cavanagh. “Every participant of Hafa Adai 5K was a part of this good cause. We want to thank everyone who joined Hafa Adai 5K as runners and volunteers. We particularly wanted to help the youth of Saipan. We believe Empty Vessel Ministry would do a great job in reaching out to children who need assistance.”
“We would like to extend our appreciation to Gloria Cavanagh…and the whole management of PIC Saipan and E-Land Group for this generous donation as well as continuous partnership in reaching out to the community,” said Rose Smith from Empty Vessel Ministry.
