Pacific Islands Club Saipan will hold its 9th Annual PIC Duck Race for Cancer on Feb. 4 starting at 6pm at the San Antonio resort.

Like previous years PIC Saipan will launch 2,500 rubber ducks into the Lazy River, said Brad Ruszala, PIC’s Sports, Entertainment and Activities director.

“You can purchase a little rubber ducky for $5. Your ducky will be one of 2,500 rubber duckies that we’ll put in the PIC Lazy River on Saturday, Feb. 4. We’ll turn on the water pumps to speed the little guys along and the first duck to complete one lap around the river earns its owner $2,500,” said Ruszala.

The owner of the second rubber duck to cross the finish line gets $300, third place pockets $200, and fourth place get to take home $50.

Proceeds from the annual PIC Duck Race will once again be donated to the Commonwealth Cancer Association. CCA uses the funds to help those fighting cancer in the CNMI and to help raise awareness so future generations can live cancer-free.

“The best part about it is the rest of the money raised will be donated to the Commonwealth Cancer Association during the Marianas March Against Cancer this spring,” said Ruszala.
