Stoilova said Monday that they usually have between 140 to 160 guests. This year, though, they had 193 guests partying during the “Back to the Future”-themed event.

“Most of the guests who came to the New Year’s Eve party also enjoyed our Russian Orthodox Christmas party,” Stoilova told Saipan Tribune.

The Christmas party, which was held on Jan. 7, also broke records with 230 guests who delighted in the festivity.

Stoilova noted that their Russian guests planned in advance their holiday stay on island, which allowed them to enjoy the PIC parties.

She said guests were delighted to see the venue which was adorned with futuristic props, including UFOs and time machines, with silver decors and lights to compliment the look.

Stoilova said staff of PIC’s Food and Beverage, Engineering, Clubmates, and Sales departments completed the fantasy theme as they were clad in fantasy costumes like a Star Trek character getup, aliens, astronauts, and secret laboratory technician outfit.

She also said that Russian celebrities MC Pospelov and DJ Rogozin provided entertainment at the party until after midnight before going to the airport to fly back to Russia.

“MC Pospelov and DJ Rogozin also dressed as heroes from the movie “Back to the Future” and created a fun and exciting party atmosphere through various games and activities, songs, and dancing,” added Stoilova.

Bright, multicolored fireworks lit up the sky at 10pm to celebrate the coming of the New Year, said Stoilova, who pointed out that the fireworks were lit early so as not to disturb other hotel guests of different nationalities.

“Although it was New Year’s Eve, it was a celebration only for the Russian guests, and the Russian guests did understand that,” explained Stoilova.
