PHI Pharmacy and Hofschneider Engineering Corp. became the latest contributors to the 2016 Marianas March Against Cancer after the two companies donated $1,000 each and expressed their commitment of helping the annual community event.
PHI Pharmacy vice president Bruce Cohen said aside from their regular contributions to MMAC they also work closely with cancer patients and their families.
“We’re also doing home care, where we visit patients and their families. We go beyond the medicines and make sure every aspect of our pharmacy is utilized,” said Cohen.
“We are compassionate to all patients and their families since we understand what they are going through with this disease. Drugs are fine but going beyond patient care makes things easier for them,” he added.
Cohen said they are also working closely with all physicians in the CNMI to make sure they have enough supply of medicines that will be dispensed to all cancer patients here in the Commonwealth.
“By all means we work with patients for their out patient medicines and at the same time build a close working relationship with doctors to make sure that we have a consistent supply of medicines,” Cohen added.
Hofschneider Engineering president Bill Hofschneider said aside from monetary support they donate other resources either to the community or MMAC.
“As much as possible we think of ways on how to help. We try to donate car services to them and individuals who are in need. We want to try and utilize all our resources that we have,” Hofschneider added.
Geri Dela Cruz, the 2016 MMAC overall committee chair, thanked PHI Pharmacy and Hofschneider Engineering. She even challenged Hofschneider to have a team for next year’s MMAC after he and his staff wore matching company shirts.
“We are looking forward in your presence to this year’s MMAC. You must be proud of having one of your employees part of the MMAC committee,” said Dela Cruz.
“You should have a team for next year since you already have matching shirts,” added Dela Cruz with a laugh. “The challenge is on,” Hofschneider replied.
The 2016 MMAC is set on May 13 and 14 at the Hopwood Junior High School grounds in Chalan Piao.
