PH passports processed last May will be distributed soon
Philippine passports that were processed during the Philippine Consulate General’s mobile outreach on Saipan last May are now on island and will be distributed soon.
According to Honorary Consul to the Philippines Glicerio “Eli” Arago, he received 500 passports.
“The passports I received already and it’s ready for distribution,” he said.
Arago said they are finalizing where and when they will start distributing the passports but they will do it soon.
“I am thinking maybe in the afternoon, in one place. I’ll find a volunteer to distribute them as soon as possible,” Arago said.
Unlike in the past when the passports are distributed at the same time as the mobile consular outreach, this time it will be distributed earlier than the upcoming outreach scheduled on Aug. 13 to 16.
“Before they arrive, hopefully we have distributed all the [passports] already,” Arago said.
Aside from Saipan, the Philippine Consulate in Guam will also hold an outreach on Tinian.
For Saipan, the mobile outreach will be on Aug. 13 to 15 at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center and for Tinian, it will be held on Aug. 16 at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino.
Pre-registered applicants for renewal of passports, registration for overseas voting, and those who want to avail of the civil registry and notarial services will be accommodated.
According to Arago, there is still no scheduled consular outreach for Rota.
“I will talk to Consul Gary [Auxilian] about that,” Arago said, adding that he will ask the consulate in Guam if they can do a special outreach solely for Rota.
“I don’t want to promise but I’ll try my best to convince him. If they are concerned about the logistics, let’s see how we can help,” he added.
