Aaron Tomokane and Valerie De Mesa, Gold’s Gym Saipan’s personal trainers, visited the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library as special guest presenters for the 10th Annual JKPL Summer Program this past Thursday, June 16.

Seventy-four youngsters from 6 to 8 years old attended the morning session and 83 youth 9 to 12 years old attended the afternoon session. Tomokane and De Mesa shared information about health, fitness, and nutrition to the energetic youth who are attending the summer program.

Gold’s Gym Saipan general manager Tyce Mister shared, “I hope that meeting our personal trainers plants a seed in all of the youth attending the summer program to maintain a healthy lifestyle of fitness and proper nutrition.”

Additionally, the participants were able to be active and participate in dynamic stretching, functional fitness, core stability and agility training. De Mesa stated, “This was my first time working with so many children; it was fun! The participants were excited to do the activities and I enjoyed their smiles and laughter.”

Celina Foreman, JKPL Outreach coordinator, commented, “It was a great experience for the kids and volunteers. It was both fun and very educational. The children enjoyed and loved the presentation, most especially the fitness and agility training.”
