‘People’s Choice’ award voting begins

For the first time in Northern Marianas pageant history, a new “People’s Choice” award will be given to the chosen contestant during the 2019 Miss Marianas Pageant called the Marianas Gem Award.
Voting online at www.mvariety.com will begin tomorrow in the runup to the 2019 Miss Marianas Pageant on June 15; only one vote per device is allowed.
The 2019 Miss Marianas Pageant “People’s Choice” Marianas Gem Award will feature a special hand-carved trophy and a $500 cash award.
The 2019 Miss Marianas contestants are Junalyn Billedo, Riane Capalad, Merly-Ann Fernandez, Sharon Palacios, Shannon Sasamoto, and Dierra Palacios.
The 2016 Miss Marianas Teen, Palanga Blas Taimanao, her mom, Cecile, and her family, decided to sponsor an award for this year’s pageant that reflects who people think which of the six contestants represents the Marianas.
Everyone is encouraged to vote and help select the first “People’s Choice” Award. Results will only be made known during pageant night.
