PDM Promoters, Inc. held its monthly cleanup of the environs surrounding Paseo de Marianas in Garapan last Saturday, its effort yielding 540 lbs of trash.
The non-profit’s spokesperson, Sonia Siwa, said a total of 26 volunteers helped with the cleanup—eight staff from Kinpachi Restaurant and 18 members of the Saipan Awaodori Team.
The two-hour cleanup happened from 9am to 11am and covered the Paseo de Marianas, Coral Tree Avenue, part of Beach Road, and the inside alleys of the area.
Siwa said a Good Samaritan helped the volunteers by providing free drinks.
“We would like to thank the American gentleman for his generosity in providing the kids drinks during the cleanup,” she said.
Siwa also thanked the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality for once again helping PDM Promoters by waiving the fee for trash disposal.
PDM Promoters’ monthly cleanups are held every Saturday and are supported by BECQ and the non-profit’s major sponsors, T-Galleria and TSL Foundation.
Siwa said T-Galleria and TSL Foundation’s support enables them to have the cleaning materials needed for their monthly cleanups. Kinpachi Restaurant provides the meal and snacks of the volunteers.
Volunteers of PDM Promoters will be at it again in March when they conduct their third monthly cleanup of the year.
